AirLive 1MP (720p) Cameras

Traditionally, the image aspect ratio of IPCAM is 4:3.  This is not in sync with today’s wide screen format at 16:9.  16:9 has advantage of full screen display on today’s monitors.  For this reason, AirLive introduces new cameras in16:9 format with 720P(megapixel).


720P, also known as HD, has megapixel resolution of 1280x720.  It has 3 times the resolution of CCTV.  For most projects, compared with recording, bandwidth and CPU loading, HD cameras are the most often to be used. Even in regular restaurants, shops, cafe, and bar, HD cameras are enough to secure your assets and provide clear useful images.

What is WDR??

WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) function is intended to provide clear images even under back light circumstances when there are both very bright and very dark areas simultaneously in the field of view of the camera.

In the video there are extremely bright areas and dark areas where a person is in front of a bright window. A typical camera would produce an image where objects is hard to be visible. Wide dynamic range solves this to enable objects in both bright and dark areas to be visible.

AirLive joined the first DISTREE EMEA takes place in Monaco from February 11th to 14th 2013 uniting vendors with distributors, resellers and retailers from across the continent.

Featured products of Distree EMEA 2013, Home Surveillance Networking Solutions are very welcomed by the customers. P2P AirLive Cloud Viewing Series were introduced to customers during the event. The models include CU-720PIR and CW-720. The IP Camera has PIR sensor build-in to provide better performance on intruder identification and wireless capability for home users.

AirLive also present mini size Dome IP Camera - MD-720. MD-720 has its advantages of the size so it can fit in small environments such as elevator. It also has WDR enhanced when the applications have too much backlight.

White light or IR Led for Night Vision?

White light or IR led , which one is better for night vision?

We did a simple test to see the difference between them.
Below picture is to take a snapshot at day mode. There are a group of number in 2 meter, the other group of number in 5 meter and one person to join at this testing.

Now we use a cube type of IP camera with built-in white light to test.

Moreover, we found the white light is shining at dark. The person can easily see the white at 5 meter. The white light is suitable for shocking intruders, instead of monitoring something at dark. IR led is not easy to see at 5 meter and can be hidden at dark to secure family and assets.
